Yipeng Wang was born and raised in Beijing, China. He started playing pickup games in his senior year of high school and continued playing in college while pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sport Management at the University of Michigan. In 2022, he played his inaugural AUDL with Detroit Mechanix and became the first Mainland Chinese player to compete in the AUDL. He moved to Chicago after graduation and continued playing competitively.
