Ben was born in Fujian, China and raised in New York City, New York. He started playing ultimate as a freshman at Stuyvesant High School and played for New York's YCC team Little PoNY. After high school, he attended Case Western Reserve University where he played for the CWRU Fighting Gobies. He has somehow ended up deeper and deeper in the Midwest and is deathly afraid of being trapped here.
