Chicago looks to bounce back against Indianapolis on Sunday

July 14, 2021

The Chicago Union are back at Elmhurst University’s Langhorst Field this Sunday, July 18 at 1pm. They'll take on the Indianapolis AlleyCats, as they look to bounce back from an 0-2 double header weekend.

Undefeated no more, the 5-2 Chicago Union lost both games this past weekend after winning their first five to start the season, falling to the Radicals in Madison on Saturday night before returning home and losing to Minnesota on Sunday. They’ll look to get back on track this weekend against an Indianapolis team on a four-game losing streak; in two previous meetings with the AlleyCats the Union have won by exactly eight eight goals each time.

Despite the losses, the team has still shown to have one of the best defenses in the league, holding their opponents to 20 goals or fewer in every game this season. Drew Swanson, a second-year Union star, currently leads the league with 17 blocks in just five games. Averaging 3.4 blocks per game, Swanson is on pace to break the single-season AUDL record for highest blocks per game average; Swanson’s teammate Peter Graffy holds the current record with 3.3 in 2014..

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
