Pittsburgh at home on Sunday as they face DC for the first time

August 4, 2021

The Pittsburgh Thunderbirds are back at JC Stone Field this Sunday, August 8 at 2:00pm. They’ll take on the DC Breeze for the first time in franchise history.

The Thunderbirds played close games against two playoff caliber teams this past weekend, but they were unable to steal a win against Raleigh nor Atlanta. This week’s game against DC pits the Thunderbirds against yet another team in playoff position; the Breeze have lost just two games this season.

With a 1-7 record heading into the final three weeks of the season, the Thunderbirds will look to build momentum to finish the season on a high note. The team has the talent to disrupt the Atlantic Division playoff race and have proven they can compete with the division’s top teams. 2019 MVP runner-up Max Sheppard is up to 50 scores on the season, one of just nine players to have reached the 50-score milestone in 2021. With four games remaining, he’ll again be in the running for the league’s regular season scoring title.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
