After more than 600 days without playing a game, the Austin Sol will return to the field this summer. The 2021 AUDL schedule has officially been announced; the Sol will play a 12-game regular season from June to August, with the potential for playoff games in September. Sol home opener will be played Saturday, June 12 at 7:00 PM/CT at Westlake Chaparral Stadium against the Dallas Roughnecks.
The Sol enter the 2021 season playing in the new West Division. This year will be the Sol’s first season playing in the West after the AUDL’s 2020 divisional realignment. They will compete against Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and Seattle for two playoff spots.
The Sol will look to make it back to the playoffs this season after falling short of the postseason in 2019. Returning for the team is captain Mick Walter, who finished top 10 in blocks in 2019 despite playing just eight games. The team also added AUDL veteran Joe Sefton from Seattle, who played on the US National Team that won gold in London in 2016.
