Les départs et différents statut de certains joueurs pour la saison 2023

Vous avez sûrement remarqué qu’il manquait certains joueurs importants de l’alignement 2022. 

C'est avec un sentiment partagé que nous vous annonçons le retrait de certains joueurs importants de notre équipe pour la saison 2023 : Quentin Bonnaud, Sacha Poitte-Sokolsky, Vincent Genest, Nabil Chaouch, Thomas Dubois et Thomas Duplaix. Ces joueurs ont décidé de mettre une pause sur le Royal afin de poursuivre d’autres projets. 

Quentin Bonnaud ne jouera pas la saison 2023 afin de guérir des blessures récurrentes, il souhaite revenir dans l’alignement dans le futur et nous sommes derrière lui dans sa période de récupération. ‘’Je serai dans les estrades pour le premier match afin de célébrer la 10e saison du Royal’’ a-t-il mentionné.

Sacha Poitte-Sokolsky est retourné en France après 3 saisons avec le Royal. Sa rapidité et son agilité ont permis à notre équipe de marquer de nombreux buts. Nous sommes tristes de voir partir un joueur aussi talentueux. 

Vincent Genest et Nabil Chaouch ont pris une année pour se concentrer sur leurs études respectives. Thomas Duplaix ne portera pas le bleu orangé cette saison mais n’a pas mis une croix définitive sur sa carrière. Thomas Dubois étant en échange à l’étranger pour les études manquera également à l’équipe.

Championnat du monde U24

Il ne faut pas oublier Jakob Brissette et Ywan Cohonner qui ont un statut différent cet été.  Un contingent impressionnant de joueurs du Royal participera aux championnats du Monde des moins de 24 ans avec Team Canada et ceux-ci en font partie. Tandis qu’une majorité de ces joueurs vont participer à la compétition et revenir au pays pour la saison du Royal, Jakob et Ywan en profiteront pour rester en Europe et pour visiter le vieux continent. Ils vont pratiquer avec l’équipe du Royal jusqu’à leur départ pour les championnats du monde et seront disponibles pour aider l’équipe dans environ 4 matchs sur 12 au total.

 Nous sommes tristes de devoir priver de joueurs aussi talentueux mais nous sommes reconnaissants pour tout ce qu’ils ont apporté et qu’ils apporteront dans le futur. Les championnats du Monde des moins de 24 ans ont apporté tout un casse-tête. Mais c’est une magnifique opportunité pour ces jeunes joueurs. Il n’en reviendront que meilleurs. The departures and different statuses of certain key players for the 2023 season.

You may have noticed that some key players from the 2022 lineup are missing.

With mixed feelings, we announce the departure of some important players from our team for the 2023 season: Quentin Bonnaud, Sacha Poitte-Sokolsky, Vincent Genest, Nabil Chaouch, Thomas Dubois, and Thomas Duplaix. These players have decided to take a break from the Royal in order to pursue other projects.

Quentin Bonnaud will not be playing in the 2023 season in order to recover from recurring injuries. He wishes to return to the lineup in the future and we are behind him in his recovery period. "I will be in the stands for the first game to celebrate the Royal's 10th season," he mentioned.

Sacha Poitte-Sokolsky has returned to France after 3 seasons with the Royal. His speed and agility have helped our team score many goals. We are sad to see such a talented player leave.

Vincent Genest and Nabil Chaouch have taken a year to focus on their respective studies. Thomas Duplaix will not be wearing the blue and orange this season, but has not ruled out a return to his career. Thomas Dubois, who is studying abroad, will also be missed on the team.

U24 World Championship

We must not forget Jakob Brissette and Ywan Cohonner, who have a different status this summer.

An impressive contingent of Royal players will participate in the U24 World Championships with Team Canada and they are part of it. While the majority of these players will participate in the competition and return to Canada for the Royal season, Jakob and Ywan will take the opportunity to stay in Europe and visit the old continent. They will practice with the Royal team until their departure for the World Championships and will be available to help the team in about 4 out of 12 total games if needed.

We are sad to have to do without such talented players, but we are grateful for all they have brought and will bring in the future. The U24 World Championships have brought a real puzzle. But it's a wonderful opportunity for these young players. They will only come back better.
