Dallas faces Austin on back-to-back nights this weekend

July 7, 2021

The Dallas Roughnecks are back at John Paul II High School this weekend for a double header against their Texas rivals, the Austin Sol. First game is Friday, July 9 at 7:00pm, with the second game coming the next day on Saturday, July 10 at 7:30pm. Both will be played at John Paul II in Plano.

Friday’s game is a make-up game of the two teams’ Week 1 meeting in Dallas. After several rain delays, the game was ultimately canceled due to weather and rescheduled.

In their first full game of the season, the Sol shocked the Roughnecks in Austin, taking down the West Division favorites 24-23. Since the Week 2 upset, the Roughnecks are 3-1 and currently sit tied for second in the West with the Sol. Two wins at home this weekend would put the Roughnecks in prime position for a playoff spot in the West.

One of the winningest teams in the league since their 2016 inception, the Roughnecks have made Championship Weekend (the AUDL's final-four style competition) each of their first four seasons. While they’re off to a slower start than normal this year, back-to-back home games may be just what they need to get their postseason aspirations back on track.

Tickets to these games are available at the official team store.
