Philadelphia Phoenix Hire Philly's Number One Sports Fan

The Philadelphia Phoenix have tapped Adam Booth, the city’s first “professional sports fan,” to join the organization’s marketing team and engage with the City of Brotherly Love on all things ultimate frisbee. The newest member of the Phoenix franchise, a Montgomery County native and St. Joseph’s University graduate, is a familiar fixture in the Philadelphia sports scene. After being the face of St. Joe’s basketball fandom, Booth transitioned to soccer and now is a capo for the Sons of Ben, a spirited fan group for the Philadelphia Union and is one-third of the trio that is the Sons of Ben podcast.

“I’m really excited to be a part of this organization. Everyone I’ve met has been spectacular and I can’t wait to get to work.” Booth said, “Ultimate frisbee has always been a passion of mine and I can’t wait to bring that to Philly.”

Booth holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies and brings a wealth of sports marketing experience to the table for the Phoenix. A long-time social media coordinator at a leadership consulting firm, Booth has worked as a sports writer, editor, and production manager for several Philadelphia sports news outlets. Currently, Booth creates media assets for the Philadelphia Union’s eMLS team.

As the Phoenix’s new "Master of Content," Booth will take the lead in creating digital content for consumption across the franchise’s platforms and develop strategies for year-round fan engagement. Of course, Booth plans to bring his unique energy to the stands on gameday, helping to ensure Phoenix games are among the most engaging sporting events in the city of Philadelphia.

“I can’t overstate how excited we are to be adding Adam to our front office,” says Phoenix investor and Fun Czar Johnny Goodtimes. “Nobody in Philly knows more about building fan excitement than Adam, and the fact that he’s also well versed in content creation and social media management is just the icing on the cake.”

The Philadelphia Phoenix is a professional ultimate team and member of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL); the premier professional ultimate league in North America, with 25 teams across the United States and Canada. The Philadelphia franchise was founded in 2012 as one of the original eight founding teams of the AUDL. The team plays their home games at the South Philadelphia Supersite. Season tickets for the upcoming season are available through the team’s official online store
