Detroit takes on Minnesota for the final time this season

August 11, 2021

The Detroit Mechanix are back at Grand Rapids Christian High School this Saturday, August 14 at 6:00 PM/ET. They’ll take on the Minnesota Wind Chill for the third and final time this season, as they look to put an end to their 48-game losing streak dating back to 2017.

The Mechanix have been on the verge of breaking the streak each of the last three games. Against Indianapolis in Week 8, they lost by just six goals and actually finished with a higher team completion percentage than the AlleyCats. Against Madison in Week 9, they won the first half against the Radicals 9-8. And this past weekend against Chicago, they played their closest game of the season, leading the Union 9-6 at half but ultimately losing 16-20.

Their Week 11 opponent, the Minnesota Wind Chill, have defeated the Mechanix each of their two previous meetings this season by an average of 12.5 points per game. The Mechanix will look to beat the Wind Chill for the first time since 2013.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
