Havoc Unveil Team Logo

January 11, 2023

The expansion Houston Havoc have decided on a logo and team branding ahead of their inaugural 2023 season. The Havoc will play home games in AVEVA Stadium at the Houston Sports Park complex, sharing the 3,000 seat state-of-the-art venue with the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby (MLR).

“Our new brand is bold, strong and progressive, traits that will embody our team and style of play.” said Havoc General Manager Sean McCall. The Havoc announced in late December the hiring of McCall, as well as the franchise's first head coach, Bex Forth. Both Forth and McCall bring years of worlds-level competitive experience to Houston.

“We are excited to share this vision with our fans and our community, and we can’t wait for everyone to join the Havoc family.”

The tornado imagery represents the perpetual energy of Houston and its proud citizens, as well as the constant motion of ultimate disc. The typeface font spelling out Havoc is a nod to the rich history of space exploration at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The primary color of yellow serves as a symbol of warmth and energy innovation in the region and the seafoam green accent flowing through the brand embodies the expansive Port of Houston, one of the world’s largest commercial waterways.

To celebrate the brand launch, the Havoc will be holding a player combine and public tryout for the 2023 team on Saturday, January 21, and Sunday, January 22, at AVEVA Stadium in Houston. Head Coach Forth and McCall will oversee the events and be available for media interviews. Adults ages 18 and over are invited to take part in both events.

On Saturday, the combine will feature competition events including a 40-yard dash run, 1-step vertical jump, and Z-drill shuttle run. Cash prizes totaling $1,000 will be awarded for each event. Ultimate disc skills are not required to participate, as the team is looking to highlight the best athletes in Houston. The cost to participate in the combine is $20 per person.

On Sunday, coaches and team personnel will evaluate players in a public tryout for the Houston Havoc team. The cost to participate in both the combine and the tryouts is $50 per person. Players looking to make the Houston Havoc roster are required to participate in both the combine and tryouts. The deadline to register online for both events is Thursday, January 19. All other participants will be required to register on site at the events. Registration and details at theaudl.com/league/houston/tryouts.
