Atlanta faces New York for first time ever

July 22, 2021

The Atlanta Hustle are back at St. Pius X High School this Saturday, July 24 at 7:00pm to take on the defending champion New York Empire for the first time in franchise history.

The Hustle are coming off a 17-13 revenge win over DC, where their signature zone defense held the best offense in the league to their lowest scoring total of the season. DC had previously defeated the Hustle in Atlanta the week before to move into first place in the Atlantic Division; the Hustle took back the division lead this past weekend. This week they’ll face a New York team that has lost just once in their last 19 games dating back to the start of 2019—the Hustle and Empire are the only one-loss teams left in the division.

The Hustle defense has been dominant all year, as they've held opponents to an average of fewer than 17 goals per game, best in the league. They’re also averaging the third most takeaways per game, forcing opponents to turn the disc over an average of 12 times. With a win on Saturday, they’ll lock in their first winning record since their inaugural season in 2015.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
