The Bayou City is getting its first semi-professional ultimate frisbee team, called the Houston Havoc.
“We’re very excited for the inaugural season in Houston, and look forward to budding rivalries with the Austin Sol and Dallas Legion,” said Ryan Pierce, a spokesman for the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL).
The Houston team's first game, against the Austin Sol, is at 7 p.m. Saturday at SaberCats Stadium, 12131 Kirby Drive.
“To be able to play in your home city makes a really big difference, so I think excitement is the overall emotional,” head coach Rebecca Forth said.
