San Diego at home Saturday to face Los Angeles

August 4, 2021

The San Diego Growlers are back at home this Saturday, August 7 to take on the Los Angeles Aviators for the third time this season. Opening pull is at 5pm at Mission Bay High School.

The Growlers currently sit in first place in the West Division with a 7-2 record after narrowly edging out a win versus Seattle this past weekend 21-20. All but one of San Diego’s games this season has been decided by four goals or fewer, including three one-goal wins by the Growlers. While they’ve had far from decisive victories, the team has shown a consistent ability to close out games against tough opponents, and with LA coming to town for a SoCal rivalry game, they’ll have extra motivation this week to continue the trend.

This week the Growlers face an Aviators team that has been rolling the past few weeks after starting off 1-5; they’re on a three-game win streak with playoff hopes still alive. The Growlers and Aviators have split games this season 1-1; the two games were decided by a total of five goals. A Growlers win on Saturday secures a home playoff game, as the team looks to make it back to Championship Weekend for the second consecutive season.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
