New York at home to face Raleigh for first time this season

August 4, 2021

The New York Empire are back at Joseph F. Fosina Field this Saturday, August 7 at 7:00pm. They’ll take on the Raleigh Flyers for the first time this season.

Fans will hope for a repeat of one of the best games of 2019, when the Empire traveled to Raleigh to take on the Flyers. A back and forth game throughout, the two then-undefeated teams went to double overtime and the Empire came away with a one-goal sudden death win. The stage is set for the teams’ second ever meeting this Saturday; both teams have just two losses this season and are in playoff position heading into the final three weeks of the season.

After winning the title and going undefeated in 2019, New York has lost two of their first seven games this season. Due to rescheduling from weather-related cancellations, the Empire are set to play five games in the next three weeks to finish out the regular season. At 5-2, they currently sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Division; the top four teams will make the playoffs.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
