Tampa Bay faces New York on Saturday

July 28, 2021

The Tampa Bay Cannons will play their penultimate home game of the season this Saturday, July 31 at 6:05 PM/ET at Campbell Park. They’ll take on the defending champion New York Empire for the second time this season, first at home.

The Cannons’ first meeting with the Empire resulted in a 18-24 loss back in Week 4. Tampa Bay has now lost their last six games and while they’re out of the playoff picture, they could still disrupt the division by stealing a win in one of their last three games; they take on the top three of the top four teams in the division—including New York—to end the regular season.

The Cannons are coming off their highest scoring game of the season, putting up 23 points at home against Boston this past weekend. Handler Bobby Ley, back this year with the Cannons after playing last season with the Raleigh Flyers, had his best game of the season, tossing 10 assists and accumulating nearly 1,000 yards of offense. Ley currently ranks second in the league with 37 assists this season, and he ranks seventh in throwing yards.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
