Tampa Bay faces DC in final game of 2021 on Sunday

August 25, 2021

The Tampa Bay Cannons will play their final home game of the season this Sunday, August 29 at 2:00 PM/ET at Campbell Park. They’ll take on the first place DC Breeze to close out the season.

Sunday’s game is a rescheduled game from two weeks ago; due to a confluence of potential COVID-related concerns and challenging weather forecasts, the DC Breeze did not travel to Tampa Bay on August 14.

The Cannons are coming off the upset win of the year over the Atlanta Hustle, defeating their division rivals 21-20 back in Week 10. Coming into the game, Tampa Bay sat at the bottom of the division at 1-9, while Atlanta was 8-1. The Cannons will look to continue building momentum towards the 2022 season, as they hope to close out 2021 on a two-game win streak.

The Cannons have a chance to disrupt the Atlantic Division standings once again, as the Breeze come to town this weekend looking to secure a home playoff game. The two teams met back in Week 1 in DC, where the Breeze came away with a decisive 24-10 win. The Cannons offense has looked much improved since then, averaging 19.0 goals per game over their last six.

Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
