The Los Angeles Aviators (1-4) are back at LA Southwest College this Saturday, July 17 at 6:00pm. They’ll take on the Austin Sol (4-3) for the second time this season.
The Aviators and Sol are already building a storied history, with two memorable meetings setting the stage for a new West Division rivalry. In the teams’ first meeting back in 2018, the Sol came away with a thrilling last-second win on a hail mary buzzer beater. In Week 3 of this season, the teams traded scores all game and eventually went to overtime; the Sol were able to outlast the Aviators 22-20. Saturday will be the first time the teams meet in LA; the Aviators will look to pull off the upset and disrupt the West Division standings.
Leading this year’s Aviators team is a talented crop of sophomores: Calvin Brown, KJ Koo, and Danny Landesman—son of Head Coach Jeff Landesman. The three second-year players—all just 20 years old—play feature roles on the Aviators offense and give the team one of the brightest futures in the division. All three are averaging over 250 yards of offense per game, with Brown leading the team in the category with a 474 yards per game average.
Tickets for this game are available at the official team store.
