AlleyCats Hire Drumright As Head Coach For 2020

November 18, 2019

The Indianapolis AlleyCats announced that Will Drumright will be overtaking the head coaching role for the 2020 season. Drumright will replace Eric Leonard, who helped lead the AlleyCats to a Midwest Division title and a Championship Weekend appearance in 2019; Leonard compiled a 24-16 record during the regular season in his three years with Indianapolis. Jake Phillips and Nathan Bussberg will also be joining Drumright to help round out his coaching staff.

All three new coaches were previously players for the AlleyCats, and have longstanding ties with the organization. One of the eight original franchises that helped found the AUDL, Indianapolis has qualified for the postseason in five of their eight seasons of existence. In 2019, the AlleyCats won their first Midwest Division title since 2012, losing to the eventual league champion New York Empire 17-15 in the AUDL semifinals.
