CHICAGO, Ill. (March 4, 2024) - The Chicago Union of the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) will play at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium at Northwestern University for the 2024 season. Overlooking Lake Michigan, the venue is home to the university’s soccer and lacrosse teams, featuring a capacity of more than 1,700. The Union previously played at De La Salle Institute in 2022 and 2023.
Martin Stadium opened in 2016 and has since received several renovations including a new turf field, lighting upgrades and state-of-the-art video equipment. The facility will host six Union home games in 2024, as the team seeks their fifth consecutive playoff appearance and third Central division title in the past four seasons.
“Hosting our games at Northwestern is a special opportunity for the Union and our fans,” said team president and owner CJ O’Brien. “We’re excited to elevate our gameday experience, provide a real home field advantage, and celebrate a truly unique setting for the best ultimate in the world.”
General admission tickets for the Union start at $15 and parking is free for all fans. Kids ages five and under get free admission, and can enjoy games and bounce houses in the Union’s Fun Zone. All fans are also welcome to meet players and coaches on the field postgame, and get a chance to throw the frisbee where the pros play.
The Union start the 2024 season on the road versus the Detroit Mechanix on May 4, before hosting their inaugural home game at Martin Stadium against the defending Central division champion Minnesota Wind Chill on May 11. Chicago will also host the Madison Radicals, Pittsburgh Thunderbirds, Indianapolis AlleyCats, Mechanix, and Wind Chill again during the remainder of the 2024 season.
