Kevin Quinlan, Felix Daigle Named 2017 Montreal Royal Captains

January 20, 2017

The Montreal Royal announced Kevin Quinlan and Felix Daigle as team captains for the 2017 season. The captainship role will transfer from Yoland Cabot, Charles Bariteau, and Philippe Thivierge, who were the team captains for the 2016 season. Montreal finished last season with a 6-8 record, good for fifth place in the East Division

After a quiet-but-effective 2015 campaign, Daigle emerged as one of the Royal's premier playmakers during the 2016 season. He led the team in completions (579, second in the league in '16) and blocks (21), while also chipping in 24 goals.

A first-year player for the Royal in 2016, Quinlan exploded for a team-high 43 assists along with 42 goals and earned an All-AUDL Second Team nomination. Quinlan set the AUDL single-game scoring record (19) on June 4, 2016 by throwing nine assists and catching 10 goals in a loss to the Ottawa Outlaws.
