Boon Technical Clothing Named Official Jersey Manufacturer For Third AUDL Season
February 16, 2017
For the third consecutive season, Boon Technical Clothing will operate as the official jersey manufacturer for all 24 AUDL teams.
What began in 2007 as a two-man operation between founder Aldwin Ibanez and a single seamstress, Boon has grown into an international sportswear presence in the past three years. A former national team caliber climber in the Philippines, Ibanez struggled to stay at peak performance due to increasing cost demands and a lack of sponsorships to help offset those costs. Ibanez’s experience as an ambitious athlete without much financial support helped him create a business in Boon that strives to provide top quality sports apparel at a price any participant can afford.
The investments Boon has made to grow their own company — as well as to promote the sport at large across all divisions of play — made them a natural ally and partner for the AUDL.
"The past two years of working with Aldwin and the Boon family has gone very well,” said AUDL Commissioner Steve Gordon. The commissioner lauded the company not only for the professional quality of their product, but for mirroring many of the values the league holds central to its business, such as affordability and community engagement.
“We're excited to continue our partnership with the AUDL,” said Ibanez on behalf of Boon, echoing Gordon’s enthusiasm for the future.
“We will continue to give excellent customer service and high quality products,” Ibanez continued. “We are looking forward to another season of competitive and spirited professional ultimate!"
Opening weekend for the 2017 AUDL season is April 1-2.
