Announcing The 2017 Cross Coast Challenge

Cross division matchups between the top teams in the league.

The AUDL is excited to announce the Cross Coast Challenge for the 2017 regular season. For the first time in league history, the AUDL will host cross-divisional games that will feature the top two teams from each of the four divisions. The four game showcase series will offer the best matchups from around the league, and each game will count toward each team's regular season record.

All four contests will be available for pay per view. You can purchase all four games together as a group package for $10. Each game is available for individual purchase at $5 per game.

DC Breeze at Raleigh Flyers
Week 4: Saturday, April 22, 2017
Purchase individual game pass

In a game with all the makings of a shootout, both the Breeze and Flyers have tremendous big play potential on offense. Both teams employ some of the best throwers in the game—Alan Kolick and Markham Shofner for DC; David Snoke and Jonathan Nethercutt for Raleigh—who can put the disc on a dime from anywhere on the field. Add in a host do-all downfield cutters like Jeff Wodatch (33 assists, 42 goals in '16) and Justin Allen (41, 43), and this might be the highest scoring game of the season.

Pittsburgh Thunderbirds at Seattle Cascades
Week 6: Saturday, May 6, 2017
Purchase individual game pass

The Thunderbirds are set to take flight in 2017 with the presumed return of AUDL record setter and MVP hopeful Tyler Degirolamo, but the Cascades aren't ready to come down from their championship game appearance last year. Mark Burton (60 assists, 40 goals in '16) is coming off one of the most impressive offensive seasons in league history for Seattle, while Anson Reppermund (34 blocks, tied second in AUDL in '16) has emerged on Pittsburgh as one of the best downfield defenders. Will the Thunderbirds win out with their huck happy aggressiveness, or can the Cascades win with their usual mix of virtuoso disc movement and timely stops?

Dallas Roughnecks at Madison Radicals
Week 10: Saturday, June 3, 2017
Purchase individual game pass

Madison is an impressive 32-2 all-time at home, but they ended 2016 in heartbreaking fashion with their first loss at Breese Stevens Field since 2013. In contrast, Dallas is coming off a historic title in their inaugural season in which they were the second team ever to finish undefeated. And with All-AUDL phenom and 2016 MVP runner-up Jimmy Mickle leading the team, the Roughnecks are poised for a repeat. Can the reining champion Roughnecks and their number one ranked scoring offense overcome the league's best defense and the Radicals raucous home crowd?

San Francisco FlameThrowers at Toronto Rush
Week 12: Saturday, June 17, 2017
Purchase individual game pass

Having never missed the final four, Toronto has dominated their American opponents during the regular season with a stifling defense and efficient offensive attack, losing just one game across four seasons of play to U.S. based teams. But a talented San Francisco team is looking to redeem themselves in 2017 after an upset loss to the Cascades spoiled their chance at a first final four appearance in 2016. Each squad's starting seven could double as the starting lineup for their respective countries' national teams, leaving no lacking of star talent in this showdown of the best from each coast.

12-2 26.6 19.4 23.3 15.6
