In no particular order, here are the five players that were nominated by a select committee for the 2017 AUDL MVP award.



Cassidy Rasmussen — San Francisco FlameThrowers

- Helped lead the San Francisco FlameThrowers to regular season West Division title.
- Helped lead the FlameThrowers to their first AUDL title in 2017.
- AUDL Player of the Week in Week 1 of the season.
- Ranked third in the league in average scores per game (8.6) among qualified players.




Bobby Ley — Jacksonville Cannons

- Helped lead Jacksonville Cannons back to the playoffs after failing to qualify in 2016.
- Led Jacksonville in assists, completions, and points played.
- Threw 15 assists and 104 completions in two critical regular season wins against the Dallas Roughnecks, including the Cannons' 24-22 win on May 12 to give Dallas their first ever franchise loss.
- One of only two players in the league to finish the regular season with 50+ assists and 700+ completions.





Mark Burton — Seattle Cascades

- Led the league in 2017 in scores (goals plus assists) with 117 in 12 games.
- Fourth player in AUDL history to throw 80+ assists in a season
- Threw 6+ assists in 11 of his 12 appearances, the highest number of 6+ assist games of any player in the league.
- Scored on 37 percent of all points played, the highest rate in the AUDL.




Jonathan Nethercutt — Raleigh Flyers

- Helped lead the Raleigh Flyers to a regular season South Division title and the best record in the AUDL at 13-1
- Finished second in the league in assists per game with 6.5 among qualified players.
- Two-time Player of the Week recipient in 2017.
- Set the single-game high for assists in 2017 with 14 on May 13.




Jeff Babbitt — New York Empire

- Scored 6.25 goals per turnover in 2017, the fourth highest rate in the league.
